Mayors Promote Region for Business

Mayors from Upper Hunter Shire (Michael Johnsen) and Muswellbrook Shire (Martin Rush) attended the Country Living Expo last weekend to promote business and employment opportunities in the Upper Hunter Region.
Upper Hunter Mayor Michael Johnsen said "The weekend was a great success in terms of creating an awareness of the employment and lifestyle opportunities that Upper Hunter has to offer.
"The reaction from many visiting the Expo was extremely positive toward making that ‘tree change' and the Upper Hunter Region was definitely a favourite of the people looking to relocate from the Sydney region".
Muswellbrook Mayor Martin Rush said, "Many people identified with the employment opportunities available in the Upper Hunter Region and were making genuine enquiries as to the cost of living, availability of housing, trade related employment opportunities and the general lifestyle benefits of bringing up a family in the country".
Both Mayors agreed that the Upper Hunter Region is definitely a favourite of the ‘tree changers' and the future opportunities that will come along with the Hunter Expressway create an exciting future for our Region.
"Investment, business, employment and housing are all key areas and the Upper Hunter Region is well placed to take advantage of this in the years to come", they both said
